Varda, Double Red Duke Stripe
This sleeveless E.M. Reitz shirt has creative verve, featuring details inspired by film director Agnès Varda.
We deconstructed our best-selling Baker's Apprentice by removing the sleeves. Because this style has a broad, dropped shoulder seam, the lack of sleeves creates a perfect cap sleeve shape that falls just over your shoulder.
We finished the armhole and front placket with a tiny bias binding, giving a cheeky diagonal punctuation to these seams.
The side seams are constructed with a baby felled seam, stitched together with Gütermann thread—the smoothest thread in the business. We challenge our workroom to stitch 18 stitches per inch for the finest and strongest seams. We pride ourselves on our shirts being as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside!
We only use real Troca shell buttons, with a beautifully occurring natural red "skin" color on the back of each button.
Varda is an airy, loose-fitting silhouette with a collar begging to be popped. She has the confidence of a 1950s muscle shirt and the elegance of a prim bodice. She feels equally appropriate worn over a bikini and loosely tucked into linen shorts as she does fully tucked into pleated navy trousers with a strappy sandal.
Add her to your wardrobe for a cool take on summer. Be easy. Have fun. Create!
