The Boss Dog is a versatile E.M. Reitz shirt, classic in its shape and modern in its details.

The name The Boss Dog comes from a book by MFK Fisher with the same name. Describing a dog character, she writes: "This fellow was everything a creature could possibly be of HIM, of HE. He was Boss Dog. Anne recognized him at once as something ultimate."

The shirt is made from the rarest cotton in the world, Sea Island Cotton.

An ancient fiber grown exclusively in Barbados and Jamaica, Sea Island Cotton is strong, fine, and soft. Its average staple fiber length is 37mm, considered an "Extra-Long Staple," creating the softest, smoothest cotton cloth you can find.

This exceptional cotton, blended with silk, is woven by the prestigious mill David and John Anderson. The historical Scottish mill, now owned and operated in Italy, is renowned for its extraordinary raw materials and meticulous attention to technical innovation in weaving. A tag noting this mill is sewn in the underside of the placket.
