The Paper Lantern is a triumph of shirt-making! It's an origami-inspired, boxy blouse that molds easily over the body due to its bias-cut panels. It has a prim jewel neckline finished with a bias binding. A narrow envelope placket runs straight grain down the center front, concealing five tiny real shell buttons. Her bodice and sleeve are one piece, creating a kimono sleeve highlighting the mitered stripe pattern. The shoulder and back seams are exterior-facing French seams that dramatically highlight the sculptural shape of the garment. Under the arm is a diamond gusset, providing ease in moving your arm. The blouse has a bracelet-length sleeve finished with a simple turn-back hem. The bottom of the shirt hits the wearer's high hip and is easy to wear untucked or partially tucked into the front of your trousers.

An understated showstopper, wear her buttoned to the top for a Thursday evening gallery opening or unbutton a little too low and gaze across the table at date night.

The shirt is made from the rarest cotton in the world, Sea Island Cotton.

An ancient fiber grown exclusively in Barbados and Jamaica, Sea Island Cotton is strong, fine, and soft. Its average staple fiber length is 37mm, considered an "Extra-Long Staple," creating the softest, smoothest cotton cloth you can find.

This exceptional cotton, blended with silk, is woven by the prestigious mill David and John Anderson. The historical Scottish mill, now owned and operated in Italy, is renowned for its extraordinary raw materials and meticulous attention to technical innovation in weaving. A tag noting this mill is sewn in the underside of the placket.
